Siriraj Invites Public Donations to Renovate Operating Rooms. Helping Patients Return to Their Loved Ones.
The Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University invites the public to support the renovation of the operating rooms at the Syamindra Building, Siriraj Hospital. The initiative aims to enhance the quality of medical treatment and improve timely access to surgical care for patients. Since 1992, the operating rooms in the Syamindra Building have continuously served patients for more than 37 years, supporting over one million surgical procedures around the clock without interruption. With more than 324,336hours of operation, these facilities have played a vital role in saving countless lives. However, due to continuous use and the growing number of patients, several critical systems within the operating rooms have begun to deteriorate — particularly the temperature and humidity control systems, as well as the air filtration system, all of which are essential for patient safety and infection prevention during surgery. As a result, some operating rooms must be temporarily closed for renovation, leading to longer waiting times for surgeries. In certain cases, these delays may affect the severity of patients’ conditions and their chances of successful treatment. To address these challenges and improve the quality of care in line with current medical standards, there is an urgent need to modernize the operating rooms in the Syamindra Building and increase the number of operating rooms available. These improvements will help accommodate more patients, reduce surgical waiting times, and enhance treatment safety — ultimately increasing patients’ chances of survival. In this regard, the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University warmly invites donors and supporters to contribute to the renovation of these vital operating rooms, which serve as a crucial space for treatment and life-saving care. Because every donation helps reunite “loved ones” with “those who are waiting.” Donation Channels Donations can be made to the “Siriraj Operating Room Fund” Bangkok Bank Account No. 901-7-02699-9 Siriraj Foundation (Eligible for double tax deduction) For more information, please contact the Office of Corporate Relations and Special Affairs.
